| 1. How old does my dog need to be to use the simpleLEASH®? |
We recommend that your dog is older than six months before you use the simpleLEASH®. |
| 2. How does the simpleLEASH® work? |
The simpleLEASH® is easy to set up and works for every size of dog from a small Terrier, to a Labrador to a Great Dane. If the dog pulls too hard on the leash then he will hear an audible warning for 1.5 seconds. If he continues to pull too hard then he will receive a harmless, but slightly uncomfortable, static charge a few seconds later that last a fraction of a second. Most dogs learn very quickly to associate the beep and the harmless static charge. Your dog will learn to stop pulling when he hears the audible warning. |
| 3. When should I NOT use the simpleLEASH®? |
The simpleLEASH® was not designed to be worn all the time. If your are not walking your pet, remove the collar. While the simpleLEASH® is water tight, it is not water proof. It should never be submerged in water. If your pet is going for a swim, you must take the collar off. It can be used during a rain storm. |

| 4. When should I use the simpleLEASH®? |
The simpleLEASH® was designed to make walking your pet fun and safe. Use it whenever you take your pet for a walk. The simpleLEASH® is also effective as a means of keeping your dog at your side and well behave. |
| 5. Is the simpleLEASH® safe? |
Yes. The simpleLEASH® technology is based on negative stimulus technology that has been used safely with remote training collars, bark control collars, and yard containment system that have been available for nearly 20 years. The product is endorsed by veterinarians and many satisfied users. It only requires two watch batteries to work! |
| 6. Can I use it with a retractable leash? |
Yes. Just subsitute the leash that comes with the collar with your retractable leash. This allows your pet to have a little bit more room to roam but still not pull with excessive force. This is a perfect combination for going on hikes or trail walking. You should know, however, that the simpleLEASH® only works when the retractable leash is locked in place or pulled out all the way. |
| 7. Will the simpleLEASH® hurt my pet? |
No. The dog will feel a correction stimulus that is very similar to a static charge you might get when you take off a wool sweater and then touch a metal surface. The stimulus can also easily be changed based on the size and temperament of the dog. |
| 8. How long before my dog is trained? |
Most dogs have been trained on their first walk with the simpleLEASH®. How long it will take to train your dog depends on many factors - their personality, intelligence, disposition, age, breed, etc. All dogs are different. You will be surprised at how quickly your dog learns when the feedback is predictable and consistent. |
| 9. How easy is the simpleLEASH® to use? |
Very easy! There isn't even an on-off switch. Just put it on your dog like a regular collar and take him/her for a walk. The computer and sensor will do all the work automatically to train your dog. This assures consistent training and feedback regardless of who takes the dog for a walk. |
| 10. What size of dog can the simpleLEASH® be used on? |
The leash is easy to set up and works for every most sizes of dog from a Terrier, to a Labrador to a Great Dane. Remember when ordering to specify the size of the collar. |
| 11. Once my dog is trained, can I stop using the simpleLEASH®? |
We don't recommend it. Dogs are smart. If you stop using the simpleLEASH®, sooner or later the dog will realize it. |
| 12. What does the correction stimulus feel like? |
The correction stimulus is a static charge similar to what you get when you take off a wool sweater and then touch a metal surface. |
| 13. How much pulling force does it take to activate it? |
The simpleLEASH® is adjustable from 0 to 10 pounds. The amount of force is something you can adjust. We recommend the sensor be set at 5 to 8 pounds. As shipped from the factory, the default setting is 5 pounds. If set too low, the weight of a heavy leash may activate the sensor. |
| 14. Can I adjust the correction stimulus? |
Yes! There are 4 settings on the simpleLEASH®. Out of the box the simpleLEASH® is set to its lowest setting. We recommend that you raise the level only if necessary to get your dog’s attention. If you reset it during training, you should not have to reset it again. The level is adjusted with small switches in the battery compartment. |
